    Project Eden

Focus Pulling on a feature film for the first time, getting to work with some fantastic faces Erick Avari, Cliff Simon and Mike Dopud, as well as meeting some great crew. Shot on Red Dragon 6k and DJI Ronin, with Canon CN-E Prime lenses. I picked up some great tips from Camera Op Mark Hobz and was thrilled to bring Momo Al-Tahan onboard as 2nd AC.

Pulling focus on my SmallHD 502 5″ display instead of a something bigger ended up a win for me, as it packed all the same features of a 702 but was small enough that I was able to run a fully remote focus pulling rig which allowed me to move freely with cast and crew. It was particularly useful for navigating gimbal shots and minimising setup between shots.

  • OLED Colour Calibration

    OLED Colour Calibration

Implemented a managed calibration workflow to regularly calibrate LG OLED 4K C1 and C2 Displays from their native gamut to Rec.709 D65, for colour accurate display of content for archival, digital preservation processes and film colour grading.

Professional colour accuracy attained using Colorimetry CR-100 tri stimulus probe matched to a CR-250 Spectroradiometer, PGenerator external patch generator running on RasberryPi hardware, and LightIllusion’s ColourSpace software, working through a process largely layed out by ConnecTEDD of DisplayCalibrations, updated and expanded upon to meet specific needs.

Shoutout to Ted for all the groundwork he has done for the LG community!

    SEAPAVAA Conference Speaker

In 2024, I was invited by Joshua Ng to co-present a digital preservation workshop at SEAPAVAA (online). My section focused on audiovisual file storage, discussing types of physical storage media, systems for backup, networking and RAID, and demonstrating file transfer methods using command line checksum (md5).

I had the absolute pleasure to join the Wellington Paranormal crew on their fourth and final season, taking over from friend and colleague Andreas Mahn as he graciously forwent another month of nightshoots in the dead of the Wellington winter.

  • Codecamp Instructor

    Codecamp Instructor

Over 6 months in 2019 I worked with Codecamp NZ as an instructor for their STEM holiday programmes and after school classes around the Wellington region, helping children of primary and secondary school ages to become computer literate and teaching them to run simple code. Central to this was building their confidence and initiative outside of a digital environment with design, creativity, problem solving and collaboration as tools for crafting a coding mindset.

    Key Achievements:

Worked successfully with classes of mixed ages, necessitating clear communication to ensure all children understood the tasks and progressing at a steady pace.

Adjusted my mode of communication and teaching approach to better serve children with unforeseen learning difficulties.

Contributed to development and refinement of the Codecamp curriculum with the team, including planned audiovisual elements.
